Green Street Pre-school is a privately owned long day care centre that has been operating for over 20 years, providing a quality service and investing in the future of the local community.

Our service provides a School Readiness Program for children attending Primary school education in the following year, ensuring a firm foundation is laid to establish optimal learning for the rest of their educational future. We support children in obtaining the necessary skills and learning required to be competent in their transition to ‘Big School’ confirming resilient individuals ready to succeed’


Green Street Pre-school observes, documents and provides ongoing learning for each individual child reflecting the EYLF to capture children’s intricate learning across the five learning outcomes:

Green Street Pre-school Ulladulla has achieved an overall rating of ‘Meeting the National Quality Standard (M) by the NSW Department of Education.


Through providing a safe, natural and educational environment where the child’s social, emotional, intellectual and physical well being is secured by a team of professional carers, management and parents working together. Child Care Ulladulla aim to support the needs of families and the demands that are placed upon families in our busy world.

The groups are allocated accordingly:
Possums 2-3-years old
Koalas 3-4-years old
Crocodiles 4-6-years old


Green Street Pre-school is a licenced service that provides care and education under the National Quality Framework known as the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) Australia’s First National Early Years Framework aimed at extending and enriching children’s learning.

Our Ulladulla Day Care School Readiness program includes the ELLA (Early Learning Languages Australia) Program. 2017 children learnt Mandarin, 2018 children learnt Spanish, 2019 children are learning French.

We are committed to developing positive relationships with peers, families, the community and the environment in order to develop a collaborative learning process.

We believe in holding high expectations for children’s learning and development in an environment which is without fear of judgment and bias that supports active participation in learning through play.

We believe that children can master new learning when provided with a nurturing, stimulating and supportive environment. Therefore, we are committed to a journey of developing a curriculum that stems from the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

Philosophy Implementation


We will build relationships with families recognising the valuable source of knowledge the family holds relating to the child and their culture.

We will maintain an open door policy so that families are welcome to visit children at any time sharing skills and interests.

We will maintain open communication with families in order to exchange information and knowledge which will enhance children’s development and interests.


We will build a relationship with each child so that they will become confident in the centre environment and begin to create their own pattern of learning.

We will offer daily routines and transitions that enable children to familiarise themselves with day to day experiences whilst remaining flexible to incorporate variation and build upon children’s interests.

We will ensure that all children have the opportunity to enhance their development in physical, personal, social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing as well as cognitive aspects of learning through a wide variety of experiences both indoors and outdoors.

We will ensure that children’s culture and interests are considered an important basis for children’s learning.

We will look at each child holistically as they learn through play and we will engage them to further develop independence / self-help skills in preparation for future schooling years.


The environment is a valuable teacher and therefore the environment will be organised in such a way to invite children’s participation and exploration.

The indoors will be arranged into familiar learning spaces in order to encourage independence.

The outdoor environment will be considered an extension of the indoors and, therefore, fine motor and art and craft activities will be included in the outdoor setup.

The staff will ensure that the environment is safe, secure and stimulating for all children, providing appropriately shaded and comfortable areas for play.

Staff will monitor appropriate outdoor play times according to the centres SunSmart policy and adjust the daily routine to accommodate these changes.


The program is based on the principals of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and, therefore, is child initiated and follows the needs, strengths and interests of the children.

Staff will observe children in order to develop experiences that will challenge children’s thinking and extend their learning in a supportive manner.

Staff will develop a profile of each child which consists of input from families and other primary caregivers. This will include long and short term objectives, evaluations, photographic and written observations. It will focus on specific developmental areas and collations of children’s work which will reflect the individual child’s interactions within the program.
