Green Street Preschool has been operating for over 30 years providing a quality service and investing in the future of the local community.
We have been a registered Inclusion Support Service since 2017 working with local professionals and agencies to secure the best future for all children in our care.
Green Street Preschool acknowledges the traditional Murramarang owners and custodians of Yuin country and their continuing connection to the land, culture and community. We pay our respect to Elders past, present and future.
Green Street Preschool
Green Street Preschool is a licensed, privately owned long day care centre that has been operating for over 30 years, providing a quality service and investing in the future of the local community.
Our service provides a School Readiness Program for children attending Primary school education in the following year, ensuring a firm foundation is laid to establish optimal learning for the rest of their educational future. We support children in obtaining the necessary skills and learning required to be competent in their transition to ‘Big School’ confirming resilient individuals ready to succeed’
Operation
Green Street Preschool provides a safe, natural and educational environment where a child’s social, emotional, intellectual and physical wellbeing is scaffolded by a team of professional educators. Educators work together to create partnerships with families to provide consistency and ongoing care and support for children. We aim to endorse and cater for the needs of children and families with the demands placed upon them in our busy world.
Green Street Preschool provides care and education to children aged 2-6 years.
Our opening hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, operating 50 weeks a year – Closed public holidays and two weeks at Christmas.
Daily fees are charged as 9-hour daily sessions and are subject to the Child Care Subsidy (CCS)
Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is the payment made by the Australian Government to assist families with the costs of child care. It is paid directly to the service and passed on to families as a fee reduction, based on a family’s income/activity.
Our service supplies: nappies, bedding, hats and morning and afternoon meals.
Our Learning Groups
Our Possum group is made up of children aged 2-3 years and caters to the developmental needs of this age group including high energy and active experiences that support and nurture reduced concentration periods, big feelings, developing language and requirements for sleep, comforters and toileting.
Our Koala group consists of children aged 3-4 years and supports age appropriate development though opportunities for child-led learning and exploration, developing early friendships and social competency and improved cognitive development like memory.
Our Crocodile group comprises of children aged 4-6 years in their year before school. This group has a comprehensive school readiness program that supports learning skills required for success in future education, including social and emotional development and autonomy. The Crocodile children also participate in the Early Learning Languages Australia (ELLA) program where they participate in learning a secondary language.
Xplor
The software platform used by Green Street Preschool is ‘Xplor.’
Families of the service have access to this app-based platform for;
- Contactless signing in and out.
- Viewing statements and making payments
- Receiving general information and updates on events.
- Daily reflections.
- Information on your child’s day.
- A digital portfolio of your child’s development and participation within the
